The standard contains principles and concepts of "ISO 9000" and "ISO 14000", the "AA 1000SES", the guidelines of OECD and UN Global Compact and the International Labour Organization, ILO as well as best practice examples from international business practice.

ISO 26000 is certifiable in Austria by the ONR 1925000.
